Club Beyond Selfridge
Reaches out to military teens whose families are stationed at Selfridge. High School students meet weekly for fun and a "safe place" to discuss the pressures of being a teen in a military family. Senior high students participate in games, laugh at silly skits, and hear about God’s love in terms that they can understand and appreciate. Our motto is "it's a sin to bore a kid," so we keep the meetings high-energy and full of fun.
Club JV
Designed for the Middle School student whose family is serving in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, or Border Patrol, as well as authorized civilians. These teens meet weekly for fun and to discuss problems related to peer pressure, parents, dating and self identity. This is a time where middle school students can learn more about their relationship with God in a setting that is fun and full of life.
Events
Club Beyond and Club JV have events each month for military teens to attend. Professional sporting events, concerts, movies, Laser Tag, skating and other events are available.
Trips
Weekend Retreats are available in the spring and fall geared to age groups. Week-long summer camps are also provided. Funds from this event make these experiences accessible to every military teen.
Staff/Volunteers
Staff/Volunteers work with these teens each week, providing a role model adult to turn to when tensions arise. Unlike civilian teens, extended family members are not within proximity.
Funding
Approximately half of the needed funding for this program is provided by the US Army. The remaining support is given by individuals who have a desire to see military teens reached and developed to serve Christ.
